Description

Is your dog scooting his butt on the floor? Are they leaving little trails everywhere they go? It is gross, and they are most likely doing it because something is not right with their anal glands. There are several reasons why a dog will drag its butt but in most cases, scooting their bottom is to provide relief when anal glands are impacted.

Typically, if a dog has firmer stools the anal glands are expressed naturally whenever they defecate. If their stools are not firm enough to naturally express, the anal glands can become impacted. This can result in expensive trips to the veterinarian or groomer to have their anal glands expressed.

Healthy Solutions Stop Scooting tasty soft chews are veterinarian formulated to help support healthy anal sac and gland function when given on a daily basis.

Signs of discomfort:

  • Dog Scooting its butt on the ground or floor (“scooting”)
  • Licking or biting at the anus
  • Sitting uncomfortably, having difficulty sitting or standing, or chasing its tail
  • Impaction or infection of the anal glands
  • Holding their tails down, shivering, showing reluctance to walk or hiding

Key ingredients:

  • Flaxseed – Contains high levels of dietary fiber as well as Omega-3 fatty acids.
  • Beet Pulp – Adds bulk and moisture to animal stools while providing an energy source that can improve the health of the colon.
  • Psyllium Seed Husk – The bulk of the husks helps provide a constant volume of solid material
  • Dandelion Root – Promotes digestion, supplies vitamin A, C, D and B complex, as well as zinc, iron and potassium. Often used to help maintain regularity.
  • Pumpkin Powder – Contains fiber as well as iron, manganese, magnesium, Omega-3, Omega-6, Phosphorus, Phytosterols, Potassium, Protein and Zinc.

For other other pet supplements to help aid with digestion take a look at our Digestive Enzymes supplement.

  1. Our border collie had a really embarrassing problem with his hiney. He would scoot hit butt across the carpet even with our guests watching which even though it made people laugh we also understood that it may be serious. I was going to try to put him on daily high fiber tablets to get his rear-end working better but our vet recommended flaxseed and pumpkin and we came across this product and gave it a try. Worst case was to get his glands expressed, but was not necessary because I am happy to say this took care of the swelling. Funny thing is our dog’s name is Scooter. But now Scooter scoots no more! Highly recommend this!!

  2. My pug really loved it and it did work. She does take two a day, which is way much cheaper and easier than having to get the vet to express her anal glands which at some point I thought I was going to have to do. Not anymore thank God!

  3. My kids thought it was funny to see the dog scoot on the carpet, but we knew it was’t fun for our dog. We decided to give this a try and glad to say the scooting has gone down. We are going to take him to the vet next week and see how he has improved. But so far very satisfied with this. Thanks.

  4. I would advice you to stick to the directions on the bottle. At first we thought the results would be immediate and when we didn’t see much improvement we stopped. Then we researched most of the ingredients on here like pumpkin which had great properties. So we tried sticking to it longer and when we took him to the vet and he noted that the glands were coming back to normal. So try it for some time before you give up on it is my recommendation.

  5. Our two year old lab was licking a lot. After the Vet had to manually evacuate her glands twice in 2 months, we decided to try this product. Wow! The vet said that her glands are normal. Great product, will save us lots of money at the vet and our Lab is more normal now and not even licking at night…..she is a very happy dog.

Our dog was having issues with his anal gland and nothing we did it would help. After a couple visits to the vets to express it we were told about these so I figured it was worth a shot. I am happy to report his glands are back to normal and he looks forward to his daily treat of no scoot which has become part of our morning routine and bedtime routine.

Dog is scooting *less* but still scoots. We have only tried for a couple of days. He does like to eat them so that is good.

  3. Yahaira M.

Not sure that this has really helped, but I guess it doesn’t hurt, I switch dog food as well as trying this product. It does seem to make some difference but not sure how much. It’s definitely worth a try if you’re dealing with this annoying issue.

  4. Leslie Salgado

This product has helped to eliminate our dogs dragging their bottoms due to inflammation of their anal glands. I find when it is used in combination with Probiotic plus they do even better. No more need for a Vet to manually express their anal glands which only relieves the pain but never addresses the root cause which is an unhealthy bowel.

  5. Suellen Olive

I have 2 dogs with repeated gland issues. Since starting them on this product we have had no ‘issues’. We were constantly dealing with impacted then infected glands sometimes rupturing. This product so far has been great for my 8 pound dogs and we are now on our second bottle. My dogs love the flavor too and my other dogs beg for one even though they don’t need them.Highly Recommend

  6. Chris T.

Our newest addition to the family is a rescue with bum issues. Anal glands need to be expressed regularly…. Well, since we put her on these we haven’t had to have her expressed. She’s had a couple of small issues but they were small. No expressing needing and we’re pretty happy with these things. I hope they’re never discontinued

  7. Rachel Gibbons

My pet loves the tasty “treats” but didn’t work for him.

  8. Tristan Williams

We have a very old dog. She is about 18 and as she has aged she is having lots of problems in this area. Since I started giving her these she seems to lick way less and seems happier. So this gets a 5 star from me. Anything that gives an old dog quality of life, makes me very happy.
